Roundtable discussion on “Development of Modern Cinema Production in CIS Countries” was held in Lachin

A round table titled “Development of Modern Cinema Production in CIS Countries” was organized in Lachin city as part of the closing ceremony of “CIS Capital of Culture – 2025”, APA’s correspondent dispatched to Lachin reports.

Masim Mammadov, the special representative of the President of Azerbaijan in Lachin city, who spoke at the event, said that steps are being taken to develop the cinema industry in Lachin.

“First of all, we have restored the cinema and cinema pavilion in the city. We are also planning to build a congress and concert hall in Lachin. I hope that investments will be made in the cinema industry within the framework of future cooperation and we will see the benefits of this,” he said.

Speaking later, Deputy Minister of Culture Farid Jafarov noted that more than 20 million manats of state support has been allocated to 34 local film production companies: “This support is a capital investment in the future development of the cinema industry in Azerbaijan.”

Rabia Mirlanova, a leading specialist at the Kyrgyzfilm National Film Studio, noted that cinema is one of the powerful tools of humanitarian cooperation.

“Cinema is such an investment area that it can last for centuries. This means that cinema is a unique tool for the development of cultural relations between countries,” she said.

Kuchkarov Mannob, a member of the Expert Commission of the Uzbekistan Cinematography Agency and chairman of the Uzbekistan Film Producers Union, said that it is possible to widely promote common culture, history, art and literature through cinema.

The round table continued with the participation of foreign guests and an exchange of views on the development of modern cinema.
