ISESCO has initiated work with broad team to assess heritage in Shusha

"The final panel of the international conference organized by the Western Azerbaijan Community has been held," APA reports.

The panel, dedicated to the restoration and preservation of cultural heritage, was moderated by Ravan Hasanov, Executive Director of the Baku International Multiculturalism Centre.

The discussion highlighted the examples of cultural heritage vandalized in Garabagh during the 30-year occupation, in addition to the destruction of monuments in Western Azerbaijan by Armenians.

Ramata Almamy Mbaye, Director of the Human and Social Sciences Sector of ISESCO, stated in her speech that ISESCO has initiated work with a broad team to assess the heritage in Shusha. She also emphasized that ISESCO has made remarks on this topic during COP29 held in Azerbaijan. Highlighting the necessity of this step for restoring justice, she concluded her speech by wishing success to the activities of the Western Azerbaijan Community.

Professor Shahid Ahmed Khan, a member of the U.S. President's Advisory Committee on the Arts, Dr. Aisha Bashah, a teacher at the European Development and Research Academy, Mohammed Wahib Hussein, a Professor at the Queen Rania Faculty of Heritage at Hashemite University, and Nicoleta Zagura, curator of the Rare Collections Department at Bucharest Municipality's Metropolitan Library, also shared their thoughts on the topic.
