The “Culture and Law: Contemporary Challenges” Forum was held at the Heydar Aliyev Center, organized by the Ministry of Culture, APA reports.
Speaking at the forum, Minister of Culture Adil Karimli talked about the importance of culture and law moving in parallel.
“Just as the concept of culture stands at the forefront of everything, our cultural values must also be taken into account in the legal system, and legislation should be formed on this basis,” the minister said.
Later, Deputy Speaker of the Milli Majlis Ziyafat Asgarov stated that the formation of legal culture in society is a difficult and necessary process: “Today, we all must actively participate in the protection of culture. This is not just the work of the ministry or cultural figures, but a matter for society as a whole.”
Another Deputy Speaker of the Milli Majlis, Rafael Huseynov, stated in his speech that everyone should be mobilized on issues of language and culture: “It is true that the word ‘mobilized’ is mostly associated with the military field, but it is also important to be mobilized in the context of language and culture. In this sense, today, protecting the purity of the language is extremely important, and in a broader sense, this also means protecting culture.”
Later, a three-part panel discussion began. During the panel discussions, participants extensively discussed topics such as national identity, language policy, the protection of cultural values, and the development of state-legal relations.
