Baku hosts 7th ANIMAFILM International Animation Festival

The 7th ANIMAFILM International Animation Festival was held in Baku from October 2 to 6 within the framework of the "Baku Cinema Breeze" (BCB) Festival organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Film Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry told APA.

According to the information, more than 1000 spectators watched more than 100 films from 26 countries at the International Festival, which main theme is "LOVE".

The festival consisted of 3 main programs - competition, non-competition and programs for professionals.

By the decision of the selection committee, 48 films from 18 countries were selected for the competition program. 12 of the films competed in local and 36 films competed in international categories. The films were evaluated both by the international jury and the audience, and the winners were awarded the "LOVE" award, distinguished by its elegance, at the closing ceremony of the 7th ANIMAFILM International Animation Festival.

During the closing ceremony, trailers of the 7th ANIMAFILM Festival, "Nargiz" animation film, and two student animation films made as a result of animation workshops conducted by Ayan Nowruz and Dante Rustav were screened.

* Special award in the nomination "Best short animated film - GRAND PRIX": "The Family Portrait" film. Directed by Lea Vidakovic. Croatia

* "The Night Tunnel" in the nomination "The best short animated film for children - GRAND PRIX". Directed by Annechien Strouven. Belgium

* Special award in the nomination "Best short animated children's film - GRAND PRIX": the film "Baking With Boris". Directed by Maša Avramović. France

* Audience Award: "Inanna". Director Rustam Bashirov. Azerbaijan

* In the nomination "Best short Azerbaijani animated film (trip to Annecy Award)": "While thinking too much". Directed by Zahrakhanim Guluzade. Azerbaijan

* Special award in the nomination "Best short Azerbaijani animated film": "Chasing Time". Directors Ayla Gasimova, Si Yi Lee. Azerbaijan, USA

* Special award of the Azerbaijan Animation Association: ("The best short animated film"): "Wild Animal". Directed by Tianyun Liu. China

* Special award of the Azerbaijan Animation Association: ("The best short animated children's film"): "Puddle". Directed by Maria-May Backhaus Brown, Mads Theodor Bonde. Denmark.
