A concert program dedicated to the fifth anniversary of Azerbaijan’s November 8 – Victory Day was held in Tbilisi, APA’s local bureau reports.
The festive event was organized by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Georgia with the support of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora and took place at the Rustaveli National Theatre.
The national anthems of Azerbaijan and Georgia were performed first, followed by the screening of a video dedicated to Azerbaijan's Victory.
Participants of the event honored the memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for our territorial integrity with a minute of silence.
Azerbaijani Ambassador to Georgia Faig Guliyev spoke about the importance of the Victory achieved in the 44-day Patriotic War under the resolute and principled leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev in the history of our statehood, and the large-scale reconstruction and reconstruction work carried out in the liberated territories.
He highly appreciated and thanked our compatriots living in Georgia for the great material and moral support they provided to Azerbaijan during the war.
Later, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora Vagif Seyidbeyov and Head of the Milli Majlis' Working Group on Azerbaijan-Georgia Interparliamentary Relations Arzu Nagiyev spoke about the unity of our people and Azerbaijanis around the world during the war, and stated that Azerbaijan's glorious Victory embodies the determination of Azerbaijani people and the triumph of historical justice.
Singer Zamig Huseynov performed songs on the theme of patriotism, and the Georgian state ensemble "Erisioni" performed dance numbers.
Among those who attended the concert were Turkmenistan’s Ambassador Dovletmyrat Seyitmammedov, Kazakhstan’s Ambassador Malik Murzalin, officials from the Turkish Embassy, representatives of the Georgian public, members of parliament Zaur Dargalli and Savalan Mirzayev, Head of SOCAR’s Representation in Georgia Mahir Mammadov, relatives of Georgian-born martyrs, and members of the Azerbaijani community.
