A global conference titled "Protection of Religious Sites: A Multi-Stakeholder Approach" was organized on November 27 within the framework of the 10th Global Forum of the UN Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) held in the Portuguese city of Cascais, the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan told APA.
Noted that Minister Adil Karimli made a speech at the conference.
The Minister highly appreciated the UNAOC report titled "Action Plan for the Protection of Religious Sites: In Unity and Solidarity for Safe and Peaceful Worship" presented at the conference, and emphasized that the Action Plan is one of the most comprehensive documents in the fight against intolerance against religious sites.
Reported that the Republic of Azerbaijan hosted six global forums on intercultural dialogue and three global summits of religious leaders mentioned in the aforementioned Action Plan. In addition, Azerbaijan contributes to the protection of cultural and religious heritage both locally and internationally.
Noted that the 10th Global Forum, held under the theme "United in Peace: Restoring Trust, Reshaping the Future," is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Alliance of Civilizations.
