As part of the Azerbaijani Cultural Ambassadors' Meeting held in the Italian capital, Rome, Minister of Culture Adil Karimli and a group of cultural and artistic figures visited the famous Borghese Gallery, the ministry told APA.
The Azerbaijani delegation was informed about the history of the art gallery and the art pieces here as part of the visit to the museum.
Recall that the gallery, located in the Villa Borghese park, was built by architect Flaminio Ponzio at the beginning of the 17th century and houses a collection of paintings, sculptures and antiques.
It was reported that the works of famous artists Giovanni Lorenzo Bernini, Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio, Raphael, Titian, Peter Paul Rubens, Agnolo Bronzino and others are exhibited here. The art gallery has been a state museum of Italy since 2014.
