Azerbaijan's Minister of Culture Adil Karimli met with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Yemen to Azerbaijan, Muhammad Saleh Ahmed Tourig, on December 4, the ministry told APA.
The Minister congratulated the diplomat on the start of his work in Azerbaijan and wished him success in his work.
The Minister said that Azerbaijan, which is part of the Islamic world, attaches importance to cooperation with Muslim countries.
Noted that culture is an important tool for building bridges between peoples. A legal basis should be created for the establishment of cultural cooperation between Azerbaijan and Yemen. The Azerbaijani side is ready to take steps in this direction.
Expressing gratitude for the warm welcome, Ambassador Muhammad Saleh Ahmed Tourig expressed his satisfaction with his work as a diplomat in Azerbaijan. He noted that he will spare no effort to establish relations between the two countries in a number of areas, including culture, during his tenure.
During the conversation, views were exchanged on the education of Yemeni youth in art in Azerbaijan, gaining experience in libraries, museums, and the protection of cultural heritage, etc.
