Azerbaijan to introduce incentives for foreign film producers

In Azerbaijan, incentives are being established for foreign producers related to film production, APA reports.

This is reflected in the proposed amendments to the Law “On Cinematography,” which were put up for discussion at today’s meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on Culture.

Under the draft, the implementation of incentive measures to attract foreign producers to produce films in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan is included among the main forms of state support for cinematography. To encourage foreign producers to carry out film production in Azerbaijan, a portion of the costs incurred in producing films will be partially reimbursed.

The partial reimbursement of expenses incurred for the production of foreign and co-produced films will be carried out in accordance with the procedure and conditions determined by the body (institution) designated by the relevant executive authority.

According to the draft law, a foreign producer is a producer who is a foreign citizen, a stateless person, or a foreign legal entity.
