Out of 749 state-protected monuments in the liberated territories, inventory work could not be carried out for 155, Sabina Hajiyeva, Head of the State Service for the Protection, Development, and Restoration of Cultural Heritage, said in an interview with APA.
According to Hajiyeva, most of the monuments that have not been inventoried are located in high-risk, remote, mountainous, or forested areas.
“In addition, difficulties in conducting inventory work are caused by insufficient information to identify the locations of archaeological sites, as well as the lack of precise addresses for monuments in lists from periods prior to the occupation. I would also like to note that inventory work continued in September–October 2025, during which 54 monuments were monitored,” Hajiyeva emphasized.
