Arif Melikov: â€œMaybe someone doesnâ€™t love Arif Malikov, but Azerbaijani People ought to love meâ€

Baku. Ulkar Gasimovaâ€“APA. â€œYoung musicians and composers should learn from the old artists being experienced on this way. Of course, I donâ€™t advise to learn from the bad artists. You should learn only from the best ones. The artists should create real works from early agesâ€, Azerbaijani Peopleâ€™s Artist, composer Arif Melikov told journalists, APA reports. He said he gave four symphonic concerts at the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Hall and complained that Azerbaijani people knows his ballet â€œTe Legend of Loveâ€ only. â€œThe Legend of Loveâ€ was performed for two times, but my concerts were performed in 60-70 theater of the world. Only one ballet of mine is known in Azerbaijan, but nobody knows my second and third ballets in Azerbaijan. The composers are happy because their works are performed after their leaving as well. I am living with hopes today. If even one of the three ballets of 75-year old composer is not performed in his homeland, I wouldnâ€™t give him this top of ladder, but they gave it meâ€. The composer said Gara Garayev, Nazim Hikmet, Dmitriy Shostakovich appreciated my works when I was 26. â€œTheir words promoted me to climb to this top. Nobody should forget that maybe someone doesnâ€™t love Arif Malikov, but Azerbaijani People ought to love meâ€.
