UNESCO Director General KoÃ¯chiro Matsuura to visit Azerbaijan

Baku. Ilhama Isabalayeva â€“ APA. UNESCO Director General KoÃ¯chiro Matsuura will arrive in Azerbaijan to attend the official opening ceremony of â€œMugham worldâ€ International Mugham Festival in Baku on March 18. APA reports the Minister of Education Misir Mardanov stated that international symposium devoted to mugham would also be held in Baku within the framework of the festival on March 18-25. Along with the world-famous mugham singers, the scientists from the US, England, Germany, France, Italy, Iraq, Iran, Syria, China, Morocco, Turkey, Central Asia and Arab countries who take interests in eastern music will participate at the event.

On March 18-25, the guests invited from different countries of the world will take part in various cultural events of Azerbaijan.

The minister said the International Mugham Festival will be held in Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater at 18.00 on March 18, in Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Society at 19.00 on March 19, in the International Mugham Center at 18.00 on March 20, in International Mugham Center at 17.00 and in Jazz Center at 21.00 on March 21, in Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater at 18.00 and in the International Mugham Center at 18.00 on March 22, in Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Society at 19.00, in the International Mugham Center at 18.00, in Jazz Center at 21.00 on March 23, in Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater at 18.00, in the International Mugham Center at 18.00 on March 24, in the International Mugham Center at 14.00 and in Heydar Aliyev Palace at 18.00 on March 25.
