Azerbaijan and Russia sign two-year program on international cooperation in cultural sphere

Baku. Ulkar Gasimoav – APA. Azerbaijan and Russia signed program on international cooperation in cultural sphere. APA reports that Azerbaijani Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfas Garayev and Russian Culture Minister Alexander Avdeev signed the document. Following the signing ceremony, Abulfas Garayev said historical roots united Azerbaijan and Russia. The minister said both countries attached great importance to the cultural cooperation and underlined that the cooperation would be continued. He especially noted that Russia was one of the first countries invited to the international conference held in Baku. Abulfas Garayev said cultural programs would be implemented not only in big cities, but also in the regions of Russia.

Russia’s Culture Minister Alexander Avdeev mentioned that mutual Culture Days had been held in both countries and regarded the signed the document as the continuation of successful cooperation.

Cooperation program for 2009-2010 covers establishment of museum and library network, participation of Azerbaijani and Russian representatives in music and theater festivals held in both countries and kinds of mutual activity.
