US Brian Horton Quartet to perform in Baku

The Brian Horton Quartet of the United States will perform a series of concerts and workshops in Baku on June 8-10 sponsored by the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan, US Embassy Office of Public Affairs in Baku told APA. The Quartet will perform a concert on June 8, at the Philharmonic Hall with only limited number of seats available for sale at the box office. The American jazz ambassadors will also give two free public concerts in Baku: June 9 at the Jazz Center and June 10 at the Rotunda Landmark Concert Hall. Additionally, The Brian Horton Quartet will conduct workshops and master classes for music students at the Jazz Center and the BulBul School of Music. The Brian Horton Quartet is brought to Azerbaijan through The Rhythm Road: American Music Abroad Program, co-produced by Jazz at Lincoln Center, the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, and the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan. Under the program, 10 ensembles are touring Asia, Africa, the Balkans, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East. The Rhythm Road project was formed in 2005 to promote mutual respect and understanding between the United States and countries visited by American musicians.
