Young pianists’ republican contest finished

Baku. Ulkar Gasimova – APA. Results of the republican contest of young pianists organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in April were announced. The main goal of the contest was the development of piano music education, improvement of esthetic education of children and young people, discovering the young talents, intensification of the pedagogical work with the talented children and raising the level of performance among the students, press service of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism told APA. The contest organizers used modern experience and valued the performance of the participants by videotapes in the first tour. The qualifiers were invited to Baku to attend the second tour. More than 300 students from all cities and regions of Azerbaijan participated at the contest. Well-known pianists and professors were in jury led by pro-rector of the Baku Academy of Music, honored art worker and professor Ogtay Abbasguliyev. 79 performers were qualified for the second tour, which took place in Baku. 21 young pianists of different age from Baku, Sumgayit, Nakhchivan, Absheron and Salyan were awarded with various diplomas and monetary rewards. There were students of different musical schools of various regions – Baku, Ganja, Lankaran, Sumgayit, Shaki, Ansheron, Goranboy, Guba, Gubadli, Salyan, Shamakhi, Zagathala were among the pianists awarded with encouraging diplomas and certificates. 18 teachers of the rural musical and art schools from Baku, Sumgayit, Nakhchivan, Absheron, Khirdalan, Salyan, Sharur were awarded by jury with the certificates of merit.
