"I am representing the U.S. Department of Labor here with the goal of advancing the integration of labor priorities, including good jobs, labor protection, and workers' rights, into the climate agenda," Deputy Undersecretary for International Affairs at the U.S. Department of Labor Thea Lee said at a press conference, APA reports.
"The U.S. Department of Labor has been joining the COP negotiations for the second year now. While taking key actions to slow down human-caused climate change, it is equally important that workers benefit from the green economy. If we want to meet our net-zero targets, it is crucial to involve workers in the decision-making process, and our negotiation team in Baku aims to achieve this," Lee stated.
