"During these days, the Presidency of COP29 has been intensively active in the direction of eliminating differences of opinion between the parties," Mukhtar Babayev, President of COP29, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, said this at the COP29 Presidency press conference, APA reports.

He said that as a result of today's discussions, an agreement was reached on paragraph 6.8 of the final document: "Although this is a step forward, we still have problems. I am told that many are worried about the fate of the talks. Let me say that I am also concerned that the positions of the parties are not converging. It's time to take some quick steps. I believe that politicians should take this responsibility. They should reach the agreement in the conditions of constructive dialogue. We call on Brazil and Great Britain to support us in the ongoing discussions. We have discussed 25 pages of the New Collective Quantitative Goal document, but there is still much work to be done. Therefore, we call on the ministers to reach an agreement on the main political differences. Discussions are currently ongoing on three main issues. These are: the structure of the final document, the scope and the points related to the contributions. Our goal is to reach an agreement. The next G20 summit will begin this week. Their participation is important for reaching a consensus on all provisions of the Paris Agreement."
