A group of activists from the non-governmental organization "ActionAid International" organized a protest at the COP29 venue in Baku, demanding the payment of climate finance, APA reports.
The activists gathered in the designated area for protests in the "Blue Zone" and called on wealthy countries to pay climate finance.
The activists chanted slogans such as "Rich countries, pay your climate debt!" and "Pay climate finance!", demanding real solutions that address people's needs.
The protesters also raised the slogan "Climate justice is debt justice," calling for climate finance to be paid not in millions, but in trillions.
The activists stated that developed countries should pay annual grants to developing countries, ranging from 1 to 5 trillion USD, to cover the costs of loss and damage, adaptation, and climate mitigation.
