"Non-governmental organizations should come together with governments to mobilize resources and finance on a large scale to reduce and distribute the effects of climate change," Global Ambassador Nigel Topping said during his speech at the "COP29 Business, Investment, and Philanthropy Climate Platform," organized by the Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO) in cooperation with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) during COP29 held in Baku, APA reports.

He emphasized that important negotiations are ongoing within the framework of COP29: "It is a miracle of modern human cooperation and diplomacy that representatives of 200 countries come together and agree on their sometimes very diverse rules."

"People are suffering from the impacts of climate change. According to the Paris Climate Agreement, global warming should be kept at a maximum of 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels to minimize negative impacts," he added.
