“Azerbaijan is ambitiously targeting 30% renewable energy in its total energy production mix,” Executive Director of AZPROMO Yusif Abdullayev said this during his speech at the event “COP29 Business, Investment, and Philanthropy Climate Platform”, organized in cooperation with the Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO) within the framework of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) held in Baku, APA reports.
He said that in pursuit of this strategic commitment, they are collaborating with international energy companies on green energy projects for domestic consumption, decarbonization of the economy, and exports in the coming decade:
‘Several projects are already underway, with key agreements signed with trusted global companies like bp, Masdar, Fortescue Future Industries, ACWA Power, and China Gezhouba Group Overseas Investment. These collaborations highlight Azerbaijan's proven accountability and the confidence these industry leaders have in our nation’s investment environment. The commitment of such reputable partners underscores not only the attractiveness of our renewable energy initiatives but also our reliability as a destination for sustainable investments.”
