"The opportunities to achieve global climate goals are vast, we just need solidarity,” COP29 President, Azerbaijani Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev said at the event "Transformative Climate Action: Shifting Focus from Financial Inputs to Impact and the Catalytic Impact of CIS" held within the framework of COP29, APA reports.
He said that the involvement of the parties participating in COP29 in global measures to combat climate change is of great importance:
"The climate crisis is existential. One of our main goals is to secure climate finance to save lives. We have heard calls in previous speeches to save nature and humanity. We believe that the involvement of the parties participating in the 29th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in Baku in global measures to combat climate change is of great importance. The parties involved in the fight against this problem are participating here. The opportunities we have to achieve our goals are very broad. We just need more contributions and solidarity in this area."
