"In the current era, pharmaceutical companies should not be profit-driven, but should be social business companies," said Muhammad Yunus, the head of the interim government of Bangladesh, at the Leaders’ Summit of the Small Islands Developing States on Climate Change held on November 13 as part of COP29, APA reports.

He stated that today, some countries do not have access to vaccines: "80% of vaccines are sent to 10 countries. You know which 10 countries those are. That's why I said that business and health have become a mixed problem driven by profit. We must turn all pharmaceutical companies into social business companies. These companies should not exist to make money. They should be dedicated to saving human lives. They said that this is not possible. Throughout our lives, our country has been engaged in social business, and this is spreading across the world."
