Within the framework of COP29, a side event called "Solidarity for decolonized and green future" was held by the Baku Initiative Group (BIG) at the Pavilion of the National NGO Forum in the Green Zone, APA reports.
Members of Parliament, heads of non-governmental organizations, politicians, eco-activists, human rights defenders, etc. from the once-colonized African countries of Mali, Kenya, Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria, Djibouti, Togo, Mauritania, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Cameroon participated in the event.
Focusing on environmental challenges in former colonies, ideas were exchanged on the most optimal paths towards a green and foreign-free future for the African continent.
Noted that BIG organized this side event within the framework of the grant competition "COP29: international initiatives" jointly announced by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the State Support Agency for NGOs.
