"At the same time, in the near future, we will develop the initiative to facilitate the access of the countries of the world to international financial institutions," COP29 President Mukhtar Babayev said at the Leaders’ Summit of the Small Islands Developing States on Climate Change held on November 13 as part of COP29, APA reports.
The Minister added that they hope for cooperation both within and outside the framework of COP29: "This cooperation should combine ambitious goals. We will also develop an initiative to facilitate access to international financial institutions for countries in the near future. COP29 is primarily focused on the broad discussion of loss and damage, as well as consolidating efforts against landscape change. Azerbaijan will create its own Green Fund to ensure the implementation of climate change agreements. We believe that if the climate process does not benefit any country, then it is not working at all. We are focused on green energy and solidarity, and we will support this agenda."
