"The common global goal of the countries participating in the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP29) is to implement joint action to mitigate climate change," Vice-Minister for Global Environmental Affairs of Japan Yutaka Matsuzawa told journalists, APA reports.
He added that Azerbaijan spares no efforts to ensure the successful implementation of this conference: "This is a great opportunity to combat global climate change and achieve the 1.5°C target. Currently, the common global goal of the countries participating in the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP29) held in Azerbaijan is to take joint action to mitigate climate change. COP29 is also an excellent opportunity for collaboration. Azerbaijan spares no efforts to ensure the successful implementation of this conference. In this regard, I highly appreciate the efforts of the Azerbaijani government. I also believe that the countries participating here will be able to agree on the final document of the conference."
