Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov made a speech at an event organized by the German Industry Federation within the framework of COP29, which was attended by German Vice-Chancellor, Minister for Economics and Climate Protection Robert Habek, APA-Economics reports.
According to the report, during his speech, the minister said that the COP29 Presidency is taking constructive action and initiatives on important issues such as new climate finance, Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), National Adaptation Plans (NAPs) and Biennial Transparency Reports in order to achieve fair climate outcomes. The Minister emphasized that the final agreement to be reached in Baku is a historic opportunity to launch the post-Paris era and assessed Azerbaijan's green energy initiatives as an important step in terms of contributing to the global energy transition.
It should be noted that a meeting was held prior to the event with the participation of Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov, Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov, and Economy and Climate Protection Minister Robert Habek. The meeting discussed natural gas supplies, cooperation in the field of renewable energy, and the participation of German companies. Opportunities for cooperation in utilizing the great potential of wind energy in the Caspian Sea, producing green hydrogen and exporting it to European markets, as well as developing infrastructure for green energy corridors were revised.
