Baku-APA. Kazakhstan's Prime Minister Serik Ahmetov expressed his confidence Friday of a 6 percent economy growth this year despite the recession, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
"We recently summed up that the growth of economy made about 5 percent by the end of five months. We have a decrease in our primary economic sectors such as mining industry. The sector is still rather difficult and problematic," he told a joint meeting of chambers of parliament Friday.
He hoped that measures such as the development of infrastructure, agro-industrial complex, construction, transport, will stimulate the domestic market.
Last year, Kazakhstan's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 5 percent.
The government and the National Bank predict that GDP growth this year could reach 6 percent.
According to the forecast of the Ministry of Economics, Kazakhstan's economic growth in 2013-2017 would be at 6 to 7 percent annually.
