Moscow. Farid Akberov – APA. "Unfortunately, except for Russia and China no country supports the restoration of peace in Syria," said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at the press briefing today, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports. According to him, stopping bloodshed in Syria is the priority for Russia: “We hold meetings with both parties – government and opposition. But unfortunately, the Western countries don’t do this. They only support the Syrian opposition. All this escalated tension in Syria. The opposition refuses to hold a dialogue with the government. They are continuing to fight against the government. Russia and China are doing their best to resolve the conflict through dialogue. On the contrary, supporting the opposition, the Western countries set the stage for increasing tension in Syria. As a result of this, innocent people were killed.”
