Baku. Shamil Alibeyli – APA. Russia sent an official note to Kazakhstan at the end of 2012.
The Russian government sent a formal note prepared in the office of first Vice Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov to the Kazakh government for explanation of the statements of Talgat Musabaev during his speech in the Parliament of Kazakhstan on December 10, APA reports quoting the newspaper "Kommersant".
Musabaev said that the “Baikonur” Cosmodrome located in the country may be removed from Russia's jurisdiction. He announced Kazakhstan's intention to start reducing the number of launches of Russian rockets "Proton-M", accused Russia of reneging on the agreement on the establishment of a space-rocket complex "Baiterek".
The Russian side demanded an explanation of the statements.
Expressing his opinion on the matter Russian political analyst Alexander Mizin said Russia should leave “Baikonur”: “Russia’s influence on all countries reduces. We have recently witnessed what happened in Azerbaijan. Russia had to leave Gabala radar station due to the increase of lease rent. There have already been comments on “Baikonur”. Many in “Roskosmos” have already understood that they would leave it sooner or later.
