Baku – APA. Leader of “Heritage” party Raffi Hovhannisyan, who collected 37% of votes in the elections and has been organizing rallies in Yerevan’s Liberty Square for several days, started to raise general alarm in the regions. According to Armenia Today website, Hovhannisyan will organize rallies at 12:00 (in local time) in Ashtarak, at 14:30 in Vanadzor and at 17:00 in Gyumri.
Hovannisian said at the rally in Liberty Square that at yesterday’s meeting, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan rejected all his proposals: “I have nothing to say to Sargsyan. I can only say that the commander, who will order to use force against people, will answer me and people. The police failing to ensure the security of citizens will answer. We start regular struggle. National movement will not fade”.
The head of the parliamentary faction of the opposition party Heritage, Ruben Akopyan stated that prevention of opposition’s victory by weapons is impossible: “The scenario of authority is that the situation observed in previous elections will be repeated. They think that they will use some provocators in the square. If the people do not leave, they will use tanks and snipers to suppress the movement. But, this scenario will not work this time”.
Akopyan criticized the international observers, who have issued positive opinions on the elections: “Now, the Armenian authorities want to refer to the international observers. These observers are sometimes called traitors loving black caviar. We spit upon the opinion of the international observers”.
