Ter-Petrosyan noted that the people are now there in the square to protest against unlawfulness: “The results are unambiguous – Serzh Sargsyan was not elected, the votes were falsified for him. Raffi Hovhannisyan won the elections, this is a reality that I do not doubt. During past 5 years, Sargsyan was illegitimate President. If the people’s protest does not achieve its goal, Sargsyan will be illegal president for 5 more years”.
He also noted that he does not see concrete activity of the persons leading people’s protests: “We must follow the protest. If we see, everything is correct, we have to join the protests in the necessary moment. If you paid attention, majority of protesters are the persons who joined our protests”.
Ter-Petrosyan also noted that the world community did not object to the election fraud: “On the contrary, I have an impression that the West gives legitimacy to Serzh Sargsyan’s authority. They destroy our nation by protecting this illegal regime. It’s clear for me that they prefer Serzh Sargsyan and do not hide it”.
At the meeting of Armenian Pan-national Movement it was decided to name the party as Armenian National Congress Party. Armenian National Congress brings together several opposition parties under the leadership of L. Ter-Petrosyan. Besides, the congress will function as a united party.
