The changes that could occur in the country’s economy if Armenia leaves or is expelled from the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) were discussed in parliament, Sputnik-Armenia said, APA reports.
Opposition MP Agnesa Khamoyan asked Deputy Economy Minister Narek Hovakimyan about the impact of Armenia’s withdrawal from the EAEU on the country’s economy.
During the discussion, Parliament Speaker Ruben Rubinyan also commented on the issue.
“It is impossible to expel Armenia from the EAEU; there is no such mechanism,” Rubinyan said.
It should be noted that the issue arose during the discussion in the Armenian parliament of a trade agreement between the EAEU and Indonesia.
