Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Russia, Rahman Mustafayev, has met with Russian Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Konstantin Mogilevsky, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
The current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in the fields of education and science were discussed at the meeting.
In particular, the issue of establishing a joint Azerbaijan-Russia university was touched upon.
During the meeting, the growing interest of Azerbaijani applicants in studying at Russian universities was noted with satisfaction.
It was noted that as of October 1, 2025, more than 10,000 citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan were studying in higher education programs in Russia across all forms of education, excluding foreign branches of Russian educational institutions, while as of October 1, 2024, this figure was 9,744 students.
