Baku – APA. Kiev’s highest court is considering an appeal against the result of Ukraine’s presidential poll, APA reports quoting Euronews.
Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko is challenging president-elect Viktor Yanukovich’s victory by a narrow margin of three and a half percentage points. Her supporters claim to have gathered evidence of fraud at numerous polling sations.
“I do not want the future of my country to be built on falsifications, lies, and deception which took place in the second round of Ukraine’s presidential election,” said Tymoshenko.
Yanukovich, whose 2004 election victory was annulled during the Orange Revolution, is denying any wrongdoing in the Feburay 7 run-off vote.
Few commentators expect Tymoshenko to win. Most analysts believe the Higher Administrative Court will throw out the appeal in time for Yanukovich’s inauguration, scheduled for next Thursday.
