Iranian Foreign Minister Manuchehr Mottaki meets with Armenian president

Baku. Suleyman Farzaliyev â€“ APA. Iranian Foreign Minister Manuchehr Mottaki, who is in Yerevan to attend 9th meeting of Armenian-Iranian intergovernmental commission, met with Armenian president Serzh Sarsyan, APA reports quoting IRNA. Hinting the Iranâ€™s positive role in the region, Sargsyan said it was impossible to solve problematic issues in the region, including Afghanistan and Iran problems, without participation of Iran. Armenian president said extension of cooperation with Iran was very useful for the people of his country. He thanked Iran for its attention to the Caucasian issues and its support for the solution of Karabakh problem.

Mottaki delivered Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejadâ€™s greetings to Serzh Sargsyan and said Iran supported development of bilateral relations with Armenia and peace and stability in the region was in favor of neighbors.

Construction of Iranian-Armenian railway, high-voltage power lines, storage for liquid gas, bilateral trade agreement were also on agenda of the visit.
