Tbilisi. Nizami Mammadzade - APA. Georgia’s National Security Council (NSC) met on Friday at the Avlabar Residence of the President of Georgia to discuss the possible reopening of borders with Russia.

As the APA’s correspondent reports, Secretary of National Security Council, Eka Tkeshelashvili, said that information on the possible reopening of borders between Georgia and Russia was presented in small details at the meeting.

“No decision has been taken yet. Discussions are under way,” Eka Tkeshelashvili noted.

According to her, the economic interests of Georgia, as well as the interests of neighboring Armenia must be taken into account during the discussions.

"If negotiations lead to positive conclusion, this could only bring success to the country and will not pose any danger."
