Dushanbe – APA. President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon signed the act of amnesty which releases 10 000 people from prison. The act was adopted by lower chamber of the Tajik parliament on the occasion of 15 years of the Constitution and Year of Great Imam Abu Hanifa in 2009. The amnesty act will begin to be implemented from November 4.
According to the law adopted by the parliament, the amnesty act will cover those who served three fourth of sentence, women, children, men above 55, disabled and consumptive prisoners, war, labor and Chernobyl veterans. 4 000 people sentenced for desertion will also be released. This is 12th amnesty act adopted in the period of independence of Tajikistan.
