Georgian parliament to publicize causes of former president Gamsakhurdia’s death

Tbilisi – APA. Georgian parliament will establish special commission to investigate causes of the death of country’s first president Zviad Gamsakhurdia. According to APA, 78 parliamentarians voted for this decision and one was against. Gamsakhurdia was toppled from the power in 1992 and died in one of the villages of western Georgia. He was buried in a secret place, but then his remains were taken away to Grozny. In 2007, Gamsakhurdia’s remains were brought from Grozny to Georgia and buried in Mtachmin pantheon. According to the official version, the first president of Georgia committed suicide, but his supporters claimed that he was killed.
