Armenian spectacle describing Georgians as homosexuals causes serious protest in Georgia

Tbilisi. Nizami Mammadzadeh â€“ APA. Tbilisi-based â€œSvobodnaya Gruziaâ€ newspaper published an article â€œThey sent â€œGeorgian motherâ€ to hellâ€ on October 3, which reported about the experimental version of the Mozartâ€™s â€œDon Giovanniâ€ opera staged by Armenian and Georgian directors at the Yerevan Opera Theater. The operaâ€™s new version summarized the Georgian Cultural Days in Armenia, APA Georgian bureau reports. The spectacle was prepared by unknown Red Leb Fund of Georgia and Yerevan Opera Theater. â€œSvobodnaya Gruziaâ€ recommended to children under 16 not to read its article and at the beginning author Arno Khidirbegishvili apologizes to the readers and says it is very hard, disgusting and shameful for him to write itâ€. The Georgian journalist expressed his opinion about the new modern version of â€œDon Giovanniâ€. He asks: â€œWhat do real Georgians feel when they see that symbol of Georgian women, mothers, sisters and wives were described with animosity as homosexuals?â€

The author said the operaâ€™s experimental version staged in Yerevan insulted the Georgian mentality. â€œThe opera will be demonstrated during the Armenian Cultural Day in Tbilisi. Unknown official of the Armenian Ministry of Culture said that â€œthey are very satisfied with this experiment, which is little risky, but they donâ€™t know how it will be accepted in Tbilisiâ€. Khidirbegishvili said what they would feel when they see the spectacleâ€™s pornographic and homosexual posters against the background of Paliashvili Tbilisi Opera Theater. â€œFortunately there are real men in Gorgosal land and the Armenian fraud will not succeed in Tbilisiâ€.
