Dmitriy Medvedev appoints former Chechen president ambassador to Slovenia

Baku – APA. Russian president Dmitriy Medvedev appointed former Chechen president and senior director of the Russian Foreign Ministry Dokhu Zavgayev as an ambassador to Slovenia, APA reports quoting the Russian newspapers.

Zavgayev, 69 was president of Chechnya in 1995-1997. He worked as Russian ambassador in Tanzania in 1997 and took the office of Russian Deputy Foreign Minister for Administrative and Financial Affairs. After the reforms this post was renamed as senior director.
