Global stock markets decline

Major indices in global stock markets have declined, APA-Economics reports.

In the US, the Dow Jones fell by 405.41 points, or 0.77%, to 52,380.66 points; the S&P 500 dropped by 37.16 points, or 0.48%, to 7,636.36 points; while the Nasdaq Composite declined by 168.07 points, or 0.64%, to 26,253.34 points.

The NYSE Composite fell by 0.66% to 24,311.15 points, while Canada's S&P/TSX Composite declined by 0.60% to 35,906.56 points.

The decline was sharper in European stock markets. The Euro Stoxx 50 fell by 1.58% to 6,311.56 points, the UK's FTSE 100 declined by 1.31% to 10,670.06 points, while Germany's DAX dropped by 1.66% to 25,576.45 points. France's CAC 40 fell by 1.94% to 8,156.67 points, while Spain's IBEX 35 declined by 1.51% to 19,695.30 points.

Major indices also declined in the Asia-Pacific region. Japan's Nikkei 225 fell by 0.55% to 64,786.93 points, the TOPIX declined by 0.20% to 4,038.36 points, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng dropped by 1.29% to 24,949.52 points. China's CSI 300 fell by 0.42% to 4,553.52 points, while Australia's S&P/ASX 200 declined by 1.44% to 8,782.80 points.
