Baku – APA–Economics. The Dow Jones industrial gained 0.1% and reached 8178 while S&P 500 lost 0.1% to 879.56. The Nasdaq rose 0.06% to 1747. According to APA-Economics, fall in oil prices had an impact on the exchanges. Google, which will challenge Microsoft’s Windows by launching a new operating system, gained 1.5% in share prices.

In the European markets, UK’s FTSE 100 lost 46.77 points, or 1.12 percent, to close at 4140.23. France’s CAC fell by 38.86 points, or 1.27 percent, to close at 3009.71, while Germany’s DAX index lost 25.54 points, or 0.56 percent, to close at 4572.65. The indexes fall due to IMF updated forecast and Euro-Zone economic statistics while IMF raises its GDP forecast from 1.3% to 1.4%. Euro-Zone economic prospects reduced 2.5%, which has been highest indication of reduction since 1995.

Financial and insurance sector also lost in share prices. Banco Santander, UBS, BNP Paribas, Aviva, KBC Groep, Legal&General, AXA lost 1.9-8.7% while Renault and Peugeot lost 7.5% and 5.1%.

The dollar price against euro was 1.3887 (-0.66%).
