Baku-APA. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki- moon on Tuesday condemned "the recent multiple rocket attacks on Israel from Gaza," and he was also "extremely concerned at the dangerous escalation of violence," which has resulted in multiple Palestinian deaths and injuries as a result of Israeli operations against Gaza, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
"The secretary-general condemns the recent multiple rocket attacks on Israel from Gaza," Ban's spokesman Stephane Dujarric said at a daily briefing here. "These indiscriminate attacks on civilian areas must stop."
"The secretary-general is extremely concerned at the dangerous escalation of violence" in the region, the spokesman said.
The Israel Air Force (IAF) continued to pound targets in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday morning, including homes of Hamas leaders, while Hamas and other Palestinian militant groups hit back with a fresh barrage of rockets at southern Israel.
