Syria's Assad regime on Tuesday declared support of YPG terrorists, puzzling the United States administration, who calls the YPG their 'partners'.

The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU. The YPG is the Syrian-affiliate of the PKK, also recognized as a terrorist organization by Turkey.

Ankara accuses the U.S. administration of not being a consistent partner in fight against terrorism. Turkey says that YPG and Daesh terror organizations are the same when it comes to being labeled as terror groups.

Turkey has responded to attacks from the YPG-held areas around Azaz for almost a week, following the rules of engagement, in response to activities from the terrorist group that have endangered Turkey's national security.
