Baku-APA. Hundreds of people have staged a protest rally in Indian-administered Kashmir to condemn the crimes perpetrated by Takfiri terrorists against the Iraqi nation, APA reports quoting Press TV.
The Kashmiri protesters took to the streets to show their support for the Iraqi people and government in their fight against terrorists from the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
The demonstrators also censured the United States and the Israeli regime for supporting the ISIL extremists.
“We wish to go to Iraq to fight against these terrorists who have threatened to bomb the shrine of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and other holy sites. They have already massacred hundreds of people,” said Shabir Hussain, one of the protesters.
In an interview with Press TV, Mujahid Hussain, the head of the Ikhwan-ul-Muntazireen movement, called on the Islamic world to remain vigilant in the face of enemy plots and make efforts to stop the Takfiri violence in Iraq before it spreads to other Muslim countries.
On June 10, the Takfiri militants gained control of Mosul, the capital of Iraq’s Nineveh Province, which was followed by the fall of Tikrit, located 140 kilometers (87 miles) northwest of Baghdad.
However, their advance has been slowed down as Iraqi military forces and volunteer fighters have begun engaging them on several fronts, pushing the militants out of several areas they had earlier overrun, including the city of Tikrit, which was retaken by Iraqi forces on Saturday.
In a statement on June 26, Human Rights Watch (HRW) said the ISIL terrorists “conducted mass executions in Tikrit after seizing control of the city on June 11, 2014.”
The ISIL “is committing mass murder, and advertising it as well,” said Peter Bouckaert, the HRW emergencies director, warning that “the eyes of Iraqis and the world are watching.”
