Iranian president: World countries realized their mistake 37 years later

Rouhani addressed the people of Iran on the occasion of the 37th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

The president said the Iranian people achieved the lifting of all the sanctions thanks to national unity and recommendations of the supreme leader, the UN Security Council’s resolutions remained in the past once and for all, and the nation that Iran is a threat to the world turned out to be a lie.

Rouhani said the people of Iran are peaceful and committed to ensuring stability and security in the region.

“Today we mark the 37th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution and our country has reached its development period,” the president said, noting that 37 years later the world countries their mistake that the Iranian state is not temporary and cannot be isolated.

Today, all the leading countries are interested in cooperating with Iran, he added.

Rouhani also touched upon the upcoming parliamentary election in the country, calling on the people to unity. “Today, all must unite and avoid everything that is contrary to our national interests. There is a need for an internal unity in the name of development,” he concluded.
