The vice-president of Türkiye, Cevdet Yılmaz, has warned that there are forces seeking to undermine the country’s stability.
Speaking in an interview with TRT, Yılmaz said that Türkiye’s stability does not align with the interests of certain actors at a time when conflicts continue across the region.
According to APA’s Türkiye bureau, he stressed that those targeting the country’s stability would not succeed.
“We are living in a period of increasing geopolitical tensions and ongoing wars in our region,” he said, pointing to the war between Russia and Ukraine, as well as developments in the Middle East.
“It is as if we are surrounded by a ring of fire. However, Türkiye is a stable country and a safe haven. There are those trying to damage this stability. But they have never succeeded so far and will not succeed in the future,” he added.
Yılmaz also подчеркнул the need to analyse not only those who carry out terrorist acts but also the forces behind them, saying such threats must be carefully examined and discussed.
