President Recep Tayyib Erdogan spoke by phone with President Emmanuel Macron of France, Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye has shared a post on its X account, APA reports.
The call addressed the Türkiye-France bilateral relations as well as regional and global issues.
Drawing attention to the importance of the preservation of Syria’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, President Erdoğan voiced his pleasure over France’s decision to reopen its embassy in Syria.
Stating that works for the return of Syrian refugees to their country have started, President Erdoğan said that the international community should cooperate in order to create sustainable conditions that will enable Syrians to remain there, and to carry out reconstruction works.
