Tehran will take a firm stance on defending the rights of the Iranian people, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said while speaking about the latest talks with the United States, APA’s Tehran bureau reports.
According to him, Iran will make every effort to finalize an agreement with the United States.
“The agreement must be based on a strategy of mutual benefit. We are trying to restore peace, security and stability to society and the region,” the Iranian President said.
He noted that the majority of members of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council had approved the latest talks with the United States.
Pezeshkian emphasized that “none of Iran’s dignity has been lost in the agreement reached” and that the United States has undertaken commitments that it must fulfill gradually.
“We have not backed down from our principles in any provision of the Islamabad agreement,” he added.
