The Japanese Defence Ministry announced it plans to build 10 large-scale storage facilities for long-range missiles and other weapons with counterattack capability in its fiscal 2023, APA reports citing Yomiuri Shimbun.
The facilities are being constructed as part of Tokyo's plan to establish a system that will strengthen the nation's ability to defend itself.
The 10 warehouses will be located in the prefectures of Oita and Aomori and will serve as hubs for transporting missiles to the front lines in the event of a military conflict. The estimated budget for their construction is 5.8 billion yen ($43.6 million).
